Dillon Danis has wasted no time putting himself back in the spotlight — inside and outside the cage.
The 32-year-old jiu-jitsu ace, who was disqualified in his chaotic boxing match with Logan Paul last year, made a statement return to MMA over the weekend at Misfits 22 in Manchester, forcing Warren Spencer to tap out in just 15 seconds.
But even as he celebrates his first win in over six years, Danis is still taking shots at his old rival.
Over on X (formerly Twitter), a now-viral clip is circulating showing Paul and wife Nina Agdal apparently arguing as they arrived in Paris for WWE’s Clash in Paris PLE event. With the clip amassing more than 5.5 million views (as of this writing), Danis couldn’t resist.
Posting on X, he wrote: “I warned him” alongside a shrugging emoji, before rewteeting several posts mocking the couple, including one that reads: “LOGANS TOO SCARED TO FIGHT DILLION IN AN MMA MATCH”.
The savage jabs are a reminder of the ugly feud that surrounded their fight in 2023. In the build-up, Danis posted more than 200 images of Agdal on social media, prompting her to file a $150,000 defamation lawsuit and obtain a restraining order. Agdal later described the trolling campaign as “the most traumatic experience of my life,” opening up on reality series Paul American about the emotional toll. Paul himself admitted he regretted choosing Danis as an opponent, calling it “the worst mistake of my life” due to the impact on his partner.
Still, the rivalry continues to haunt both men. Danis has admitted the disqualification loss still eats at him, telling Wade Plemons: “Since that day, I’ve been suicidal. Because I know I can beat him. He sucks. I know he sucks.”
Danis continued: “It definitely f***ing haunts me, and we were supposed to have that MMA fight. Like, he shook my hand, but he’s scared of it. I wish he did. We would make so much money.”
If Danis wanted to silence doubts, his lightning-fast MMA comeback was certainly a good start. Spencer, an influencer-turned-boxer, surprisingly shot for a takedown — and paid for it immediately. Danis snatched a choke and sealed the tap in seconds, improving to 3-0-0 in MMA.
But the drama didn’t end with the fight. Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall entered the cage following the match, setting up the possibility of one of the most bizarre crossover showdowns yet.
Danis laid down the terms: Hall, who weighed 348lb for his own MMA debut in April, would need to slim down below 300lb to make it happen. Hall, who once tipped the scales at 430lb, shook hands on the deal. “Give me 12 weeks, I’ll lose 64 pounds and I’ll rock his f***ing chin,” Hall promised.
The prospect of a 170lb grappling wizard against the former World’s Strongest Man is classic Misfits spectacle — freakish, unorthodox, and guaranteed to draw eyeballs. Whether Danis sticks with Hall, pursues a long-rumoured Tony Ferguson fight, or finds another high-profile dance partner, one thing is clear: “El Jefe” is back, stirring chaos wherever he goes.
