Following the departure of Jazmyn Nyx, the WWE NXT roster has lost another name.
Edris Enofe officially announced his departure from the company — and it didn’t take long for AEW’s Ricochet to come calling.
Enofe revealed the news in a video posted to social media on September 29, 2025, confirming the end of his four-year run with WWE. In the video, the 27-year-old reflected on his time in the company and thanked fans, coaches, and colleagues for their support.
“As of today, I will officially be leaving the WWE. This is a decision that I thought about for a very long time, and I’m gonna trust my gut on this,” Enofe said.
“With that being said, for the past four years, I had the chance and the opportunity to meet and work with incredible people from the wrestlers to the referees to the creative team to the medical staff, and of course to all the coaches who put in so much time and effort into making me better. And for that, I will always appreciate y’all and of course all the fans who have supported me and stuck by my side through all these years. Thank you.”
From NXT Tag Team Standout To Free Agent
Enofe joined WWE in 2021 and became a fixture in the NXT tag team division, often pairing with Malik Blade. His most recent in-ring appearance came at an NXT live event in July, following a return from shoulder surgery. His last televised outing was on the July 18 episode of WWE EVOLVE.
His departure also comes while Blade remains sidelined with a torn ACL suffered in December 2024, leaving the duo’s future uncertain.
Within minutes of Enofe’s announcement, Ricochet — who himself jumped from WWE to AEW earlier this year — issued a challenge on X (formerly Twitter).
“Come to @AEW and ima slap you in the face. #Ahaa,” Ricochet tweeted in response.
The blunt message instantly sparked speculation about Enofe’s next move. While Enofe did not directly respond, Ricochet’s challenge has already fueled rumours that the high-flyer could land in AEW sooner rather than later.
As previously mentioned, Enofe isn’t the only name moving on from NXT. Former Fatal Influencer memeber Jazmyn Nyx has also opted to leave after declining a contract extension, per PWInsider Elite.
Nyx – who now goes by Jade Gentle and who recently revealed her annual salary was under $80,000 – was written off television during the September 23 episode of NXT when her Fatal Influence stablemates, Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley, abandoned her after she was found unconscious backstage.
In an Instagram video explaining her decision, Nyx said: “Personally, the contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially.”
For now, Enofe leaves WWE on his own terms, citing it as a personal decision made after much deliberation. With his athletic style and charisma, he remains a strong prospect for any promotion looking to bolster its roster.
And with Ricochet already publicly throwing down a challenge, fans could be watching the seeds of a fresh rivalry that crosses company lines.
