A routine fan selfie turned into one of the most jaw-dropping (and jaw-rocking) moments of the weekend when a wrestling match in New York spilled far beyond the ropes.

During House of Glory’s latest event, Charles ‘The Root of All Evil’ Mason left spectators stunned after kicking a female fan in the face mid-match – with the moment captured on camera.

The chaotic scene unfolded as Mason locked horns with former WWE star Andrade El Ídolo, who now performs for AEW. Midway through their bout, Andrade briefly stepped away from the action and leaned into the crowd, continuing his Casanova-style interaction with fans.

He grabbed a female spectator’s phone and struck a pose for a selfie – an added touch to his matches that he’s started doing since re-signing with AEW.

But just as he handed the phone back to the woman, Mason came charging into frame.

What followed left the arena in disbelief.

House of Glory later shared footage of the incident across social media with the caption: “Andrade went for the selfie. Mason went for the jugular.

“The most shocking moment of the night. NYC will never forget this one.”

As Andrade returned the phone to the delighted fan, Mason’s airborne boot connected with her face in a moment that instantly shifted the tone inside the venue.

One of the commentators reacted in horror, shouting: “Oh my God! He just broke that person’s bottle, and Andrade can’t believe what he saw!”

Andrade, visibly furious, wasted no time responding. He fired back with a Yakuza kick of his own, turning his attention squarely back to Mason.

“And Andrade is angry, just look at this!” added the commentator as the Mexican star retaliated.

The impact stunned not only those in attendance but also viewers online, where clips spread rapidly across social media platforms.

Fans online struggled to process what they had witnessed. “Lmao, Mason straight YEETED her”, one wrote, with a second adding: “Ahh, she out cold”.

“Damn it’s dangerous ringside,” added a third.

Concern quickly followed shock. “I hope she’s okay, geez”, posted one user, with another tweeting: “Hopefully she’s a plant and knew this was coming.”

After forcing Mason back toward the ring, Andrade broke through the barriers and went to console the woman, whose identity has not been revealed. Cameras captured her appearing to smile as Andrade embraced her in the aftermath of the incident.

According to multiple reports, Mason’s boot did not leave her with any serious injuries. Mason later shared the clip on Instagram with a caption that further fuelled the reaction, writing: “A picture says 1000 words. This video says “fuck these h**s.”

Now, given the fact that both Mason and the wrestling promotion have shared the footage to social media, there is an incredibly high chance that this moment was part of the script for the night, and that the woman in the crowd was a plant.

Nevertheless, the bump she took certainly looked like it rocked her for real, and she was certainly given her flowers by social media users, with one person writing: “Plant or not, my girl took that kick like a champ and still looked cuter than Andrade after.”

When asked in the comments whether the woman was “hurt for real”, Mason replied bluntly: “She’s d*ad.”

Despite the chaos, the match continued, and Andrade ultimately secured victory via pinfall, holding Mason’s shoulders to the mat for the referee’s three-count.
