The road to Myrtle Beach just got very real.

With just over two months to go until the 2026 World’s Strongest Man, organisers have officially revealed the full slate of events — and it’s a programme built to test every facet of strength.

The competition will take place from April 23–26 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, splitting the action across two distinct phases: the qualifiers and the finals.

As always, the format ensures no easy route to the trophy.

The opening stage will see athletes divided into groups, battling through the heats for a coveted place in the final. Only ten will progress to the decisive showdown.

And now, competitors know exactly what stands between them and a shot at the title.

HEAT EVENTS

The qualifiers will open with Farmer’s Walk into Power Stairs — a brutal combination event that demands grip, speed, and explosive leg drive. Athletes will carry heavy farmer’s implements over an unspecified distance before immediately transitioning into the power stairs, a classic test of loading strength under fatigue.

There’s no easing into this year’s contest.

Next comes the Overhead Circus Medley, where a variety of implements must be pressed overhead. Different weights. Different shapes. One consistent requirement: relentless upper-body power.

The third event marks the return of Squat for Reps, a fan favourite that rewards not just raw strength, but conditioning and mental resilience. Under the clock, every repetition counts.

Event four brings another staple of elite strongman competition — the Truck Pull. Massive horsepower meets human horsepower as athletes dig in and haul a full-sized truck across the finish line.

The qualifiers will conclude with the Natural Stone Medley, confirming that the Stone-Off is absent from the event list once again. Instead of the traditional head-to-head stone battle, competitors will tackle a medley format, adding a strategic layer to the closing heat.

Survive that gauntlet, and the finals await.

FINALS EVENTS

The first test in the final will be the ‘Knaack’ Medley. Exact details remain unclear, as the event often features unique and custom-built equipment. That unpredictability alone adds intrigue — and pressure.

Then comes the Max Log Lift, a pure display of overhead strength. It’s simple in theory: lift the heaviest log possible. In practice, it’s one of the sport’s most unforgiving disciplines.

The third event, Titan’s Toss, is expected to resemble last year’s format. Athletes will throw implements over a bar, but rather than increasing the height, the distance from the bar increases. That subtle shift alters the trajectory and adds technical difficulty, forcing competitors to balance precision with explosive power.

Deadlift for Reps follows — a race against the clock to lock out as many repetitions as possible within the allotted time. In a field stacked with elite pullers, this could prove decisive.

As tradition dictates, Atlas Stones will close the show. The format is not expected to change. Athletes must lift a series of progressively heavier stones from the floor onto raised platforms. It’s the sport’s most iconic image — and once again, it will determine who stands tallest in South Carolina.

The timing of the event reveal is significant.

With the majority of the lineup already confirmed, athletes can now tailor their preparations to the specific demands ahead. The 2026 roster is expected to feature 25 competitors, although there have been calls from athletes and fans to expand the field to 30.

Twenty names have already been confirmed, including returning champions Rayno Nel, Tom Stoltman, Mitchell Hooper, and Martins Licis.

Rayno Nel enters as defending champion after becoming the first rookie since 1997 to win the title in 2025. Tom Stoltman is chasing a fourth gold medal. Hooper is aiming to reclaim the crown before attempting a Deadlift World Record at the 2026 Enhanced Games. Martins Licis returns for the first time since 2022, when he finished second.

The full line-up is as follows: Rayno Nel, Tom Stoltman, Mitchell Hooper, Martins Licis, Luke Richardson, Evan Singleton, Bryce Johnson, Andrew Flynn, Paddy Haynes, Jaco Schoonwinkel, Mat Ragg, Ondrej Fojtu, Trey Mitchell, Lucas Hatton, Nick Guardione, Luke Stoltman, Evans Nana, Josh Patacca, Austin Andrade, Adam Bishop, and Eddie Jo Williams — a stacked field blending returning champions, established contenders, and rising forces all set to battle for the sport’s biggest title in Myrtle Beach.

The depth is undeniable. And now, the events are locked in.

April can’t come soon enough.
