We’ve all seen some mad stuff in the gym, right?

Whether it’s people getting themself tangled in the cable machine, or nearly crushing themselves after benching too much with no spotter, there always seems to be something going on.

Personally, one thing I can’t stand is people blasting their music out loud at the gym – or the tunes that most gyms play, to be honest.

However, one guy who posted on social media might be an exception to the rule purely because of how awesome he is.

Alexander Mercieca is a Bassist and Singer for the band Buck’d Up, and he’s also a Certified CrossFit Trainer.

You’re probably thinking that those are two worlds that probably won’t collide, right?

Well, Alexander has proven that you can train at the gym while also playing some great tunes on the bass guitar at the same time.

Imagine, if you will, looking around the gym and some guy is lifting 135lbs above his head while playing the intro to AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ on the bass.

Because that’s exactly what Alexander did.

He performed a 135lb one-arm power snatch all while playing the iconic intro – and the only word that comes to mind is ‘epic’.

Viewers agreed, with one person writing: “The Most epic thing I‘ve seen in my whole life.”

A second said: “A sincere thank you for scaring the sh*t out of me and inspiring me at the same time.”

While a third added: “I know badminton training when I see it.”

Another person summed up how we’re all probably feeling: “Snatched with one hand more than I can with two hands, tapped a bass part I can’t play normally and did both tasks at the same time better than I can do focused on either.”

This isn’t out of the ordinary for Alexander, because his page shows that he often combines both music and working out, including squatting 315lbs while playing ‘Paranoid’ by Black Sabbath.

I truly don’t know how he does it, but I hope he continues producing these awesome videos because they’re a lot of fun to watch – even if they can get a bit scary sometimes.

I’m now heading to the gym to see if I can play the triangle while walking on the treadmill… because we’ve all got to start somewhere.
