In a crossover fight few saw coming, Tommy Fury is officially set to face Eddie Hall this summer in what promises to be one of the wildest matchups of the year.

The bout will headline a Misfits Boxing event at Manchester’s AO Arena on June 13, airing live on DAZN PPV, with both men stepping into the ring under very different circumstances — and with very different physiques.

For Hall, the fight marks a return to boxing for the first time since his 2022 clash with fellow strongman Hafthor Björnsson. Since then, the 38-year-old has shifted his focus toward MMA, where he has quickly built momentum.

He beat Tunisian TikTok stars The Neffati Brothers in a 2vs1 bout in June 2024, before making his professional debut against five-time World’s Strongest Man winner Mariusz Pudzianowski last April. That fight ended emphatically, with Hall knocking out the experienced veteran in just 27 seconds.

Despite that success, Hall had previously suggested he was done with boxing — making this return all the more surprising.

Hints of the announcement had been building for days. Speaking ahead of the reveal, Hall repeatedly teased that something big was coming, while carefully avoiding specifics. “I’ve got my own fight getting announced next week,” Hall told Louie The Reporter while speaking at Gorilla Promotions 2.0 at the weekend. “I can’t say anything other than that.”

What he did confirm was the timing and platform. “It’s in June. Big fight coming up. It will be [Misfits].”

He also reiterated the exact date and location in another interview, saying: “I’ve got a fight coming up, June the 13th in Manchester. That’ll be announced very, very soon.”

Now, with Tommy Fury confirmed as his opponent, the scale of the event has become clear.

Fury enters the fight unbeaten, holding an 11-0 professional record that includes high-profile wins over Jake Paul and KSI. However, his activity has been limited in recent years. After defeating KSI in 2023, his momentum was slowed by a hand injury that required surgery.

He returned to action last May, defeating Kenan Hanjalic via unanimous decision — but this upcoming bout represents a significant step up in spectacle.

“I’m feeling fit, should be in the ring very soon. Hopefully get a big fight out there very soon,” Fury told Raceday TV while at Cheltenham. “We’re rolling on this year. I’m always in full training but it’s a bit more intense than it usually is.”

One of the most eye-catching aspects of the fight is the sheer size difference between the two men.

Fury, who has typically competed at light heavyweight (175lbs) and cruiserweight (200lbs), will now move up to heavyweight for the first time in his career.

Hall, meanwhile, remains an enormous presence despite slimming down from his strongman peak. During his World’s Strongest Man days — which he won in 2017 — he weighed as much as 443lbs. For his most recent fight, he came in at 334lbs, and is expected to outweigh Fury by more than 100lbs on fight night.

The contrast alone has fueled intrigue, with fans eager to see how Fury’s boxing experience stacks up against Hall’s raw power.

The matchup also arrives amid ongoing speculation surrounding another potential opponent for Hall — Dillon Danis. The two have exchanged words publicly for months, and Hall has made it clear he still wants that fight.

“I’ve been told the Dillon Danis fight will happen before the end of the year so, let’s make it happen,” he said.

For now, though, all attention turns to June 13.

The fight represents a classic Misfits Boxing spectacle — blending traditional boxing names with crossover stars and unpredictable matchups. With Fury’s technical skill and undefeated record going up against Hall’s size, strength, and explosive power, it’s a clash that defies conventional matchmaking.

And while questions remain about how the styles will collide, one thing is certain: this is not a fight anyone expected — but it’s one that has instantly captured attention.
