The fight result was clear. The conversation around it? Not so much.

Ebanie Bridges secured a unanimous decision victory over Ebonie Cotton on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at Rainton Meadows Arena — but long before the first punch was thrown, the spotlight had already shifted elsewhere.

Bridges took the win comfortably on the scorecards, with judges scoring the six-round bantamweight contest 59-56 in her favour. It was a performance that reinforced her experience advantage, stepping into the ring with a record of 9-3 compared to Cotton’s 2-1.

On paper, the gap was evident. Bridges also carried a 44% knockout rate, while Cotton entered the fight without a knockout to her name. Add in 63 more professional rounds and nearly a decade more experience, and the result followed expectations.

But despite the outcome, most of the noise online wasn’t about the fight itself.

It was about the weigh-in.

Bridges, already known for her headline-grabbing appearances on the scales, opted for a light blue set that “left little to the imagination” — something fans have come to expect from the “Blonde Bomber.”

However, it was Cotton who took things even further.

According to reports, she “just about, protected her modesty with some thin strips of tape – that left nothing to the imagination,” instantly turning the weigh-in into a viral talking point.

And the reaction online was immediate — and divided.

“This is the most interesting weigh in of all time.” one fan wrote.

“Certainly selling the Fight,” another added.

Others were less impressed with the direction things took.

“Turning the whole affair into a joke, never be taken seriously.” one comment read, with another questioning: “Why are people sexualizing the sport? Makes no sense at all.”

But there were also voices defending the bigger picture — and the attention it brings.

One Instagram user wrote: “Women’s boxing is not a gimmick. It’s more action packed than men’s. These women need to create revenue streams because the pay is not comparable, but unlike football the product is brilliant”

Some fans even suggested both fighters achieved exactly what they set out to do, writing: “Both girls won: got your attention, got the outreach, they’re smashing publicising their content and they’ll both smash their fight, they have more brain cells than the entire male species put together. Keep smashing life in the fast line @ebanie_bridges ; legend of a fighter, mother, business woman and I’m sure partner too.”

In the end, Bridges walked away with the win inside the ring — but outside of it, the weigh-in arguably stole the show.

And whether fans loved it or hated it, one thing is certain: Everyone was watching.
