There are strong teenagers.
And then there’s Bubba Pritchett.
At just 15 years old, the American sensation is already producing numbers that sound ridiculous even by elite adult standards — and his latest deadlift video has left strength fans wondering whether they’re watching the early stages of a future world-record holder.
Because seeing a teenager pull 285kg from the floor simply doesn’t look real.
The clip, which has been spreading rapidly across social media, shows Pritchett locking in before completing the enormous deadlift with a level of control and composure that stunned viewers online. There’s no chaos. No dramatic struggle. Just raw strength from someone who technically still isn’t even old enough to drive in many countries.
To put the lift into perspective, the current deadlift world record stands at an astonishing 510kg, set by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. That mark remains one of the most iconic feats in strength sport history.
But what has people talking isn’t that Pritchett is close to that number right now.
It’s the terrifying possibility of where he could eventually end up.
Because 285kg at 15 years old isn’t normal.
It isn’t even remotely close to normal.
And the scary part is that Pritchett keeps progressing at a rate that feels difficult to comprehend.
One fan commented: “Watch out Thor, your record will be broken in the future.”
A second said: “This kid is gonna break the world record deadlift one day.”
While a third added: “He’s going to be world champion, no doubt about it.”
The latest footage immediately reignited conversations already building around the teenager after a series of viral moments pushed him into the spotlight over the past year. Fans have watched him produce lift after lift that would be impressive for established strongmen — never mind somebody still in school.
Only recently, Pritchett stunned viewers after successfully hitting a monstrous 300lb overhead press, a clip that instantly exploded online as people tried to process what they were watching.
Because this wasn’t some heavily-assisted movement or technical workaround.
This was raw power.
A legitimate press.
And people could hardly believe a 15-year-old was the one doing it.
The clip showed Pritchett preparing himself for the lift while encouragement was shouted from off-camera before he powered the weight overhead in a moment that instantly triggered reactions from across the strength world.
Strongman icon Nick Best was among those responding, commenting: “Let’s go Bubba!!!”
Another person wrote: “Unreal I can’t wait to see you make worlds strongest man some day.”
A third added: “Defo going to win World strongman comp in future.”
Now, with the 285kg deadlift clip circulating, those predictions suddenly don’t feel exaggerated anymore.
Because this no longer looks like isolated teenage potential.
It looks like somebody accelerating towards something genuinely historic.
What makes Pritchett’s rise even more surreal is the consistency of the clips appearing online.
Another lift that shouldn’t really be happening at his age.
Another challenge that leaves experienced strength athletes shaking their heads.
And it’s not just static lifting either.
Pritchett has already gone viral multiple times for moving vehicles that most people would struggle to comprehend, let alone attempt.
Pritchett is already entering territory that many adult lifters never reach.
At 15.
And that’s why so many people believe the sport may already have a problem looming on the horizon.
Because if this is what Bubba Pritchett looks like now, imagining what the next five or ten years could bring becomes almost frightening.
