Eddie Hall has revealed the explosive moment that pushed him into signing a fight contract with Tommy Fury, claiming a heated confrontation with John Fury ultimately set the wheels in motion for their June 13 showdown.

The former World’s Strongest Man opened up during a fiery Face-Off interview on DAZN Boxing, where tensions between the two camps were already simmering beneath the surface.

According to Hall, things escalated quickly after an exchange with Tyson and Tommy Fury’s father, John Fury, during an earlier interaction that clearly struck a nerve.

Hall explained that the situation reached boiling point after repeated back-and-forth comments, with the Strongman admitting he eventually “blew my lid” during the confrontation.

“I wanted a fight with one of the Fury’s,” Eddie explained. “Eventually, John just said to me, ‘Shut the f*ck up. It’s all on Messenger,’” Hall recalled.

That was the moment Hall decided words alone were no longer enough: “So, I just blew my lid. I was like, ‘Well, you’re talking talk, so you’ll walk the walk.’”

The 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner suggested the argument came from a place of pride and old-school fighting mentality, insisting there comes a point where talk has to turn into action.

Hall said: “You know, it’s fighting men, growing up [fighting] and then put your money where your mouth is.”

What followed was a dramatic turn few would have expected at the time.

Hall claims that within days of the confrontation, an official fight contract was already on the table.

“And then before I knew it, I had a contract to fight Tommy under my nose within a week,” he said.

Despite the hostility surrounding the build-up, Hall also made clear that Tommy Fury himself is fully committed to the bout, with both men now locked in for June 13.

“And Tommy wants it. So here we go,” he said.

The fight represents another huge crossover event in combat sports, with Hall continuing his transition from Strongman competition into fighting, while Fury looks to maintain momentum following his rise through crossover boxing.

Given the involvement of John Fury, however, the build-up already appears likely to be just as explosive as the fight itself.

Hall has never been shy when it comes to confrontation, and his latest comments only add more fuel to what is becoming an increasingly personal rivalry between the two camps ahead of fight night.

With tempers already flaring during interviews and face-offs, June 13 now carries far more than simple exhibition intrigue. For Hall, this appears to have become a matter of pride as much as competition.

And if his latest comments are anything to go by, the argument that started it all is still very much lingering beneath the surface.
