A chaotic scene unfolded ahead of this weekend’s Misfits Boxing event after a heated confrontation spilt beyond the usual pre-fight theatrics and ended with one fighter bloodied and security rushing in.
Charlie Robert, better known online as Big Stacks, found himself at the centre of the controversy after a violent altercation during Wednesday’s open workout event.
Stacks, who has built a reputation on social media and regularly refers to himself as the “Hardest Man in the UK”, had been scheduled to make his Misfits Boxing debut against bodybuilder Armz Korleone.
Instead, attention quickly shifted away from the ring and onto an explosive confrontation involving members of the Fury camp and fellow undercard fighter Jordan McCann.
According to reports from the event, tensions flared when Stacks approached Shane Fury, brother of former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, during the open workout.
What began as a verbal exchange rapidly escalated.
McCann, who is set to face Ibiza Final Boss Jack Kay on the card, became involved in the situation and approached Stacks from behind. Footage from the incident showed McCann putting Stacks in a headlock before a punch was landed that left the social media personality bleeding from the mouth and nose.
The punch sparked immediate chaos inside the venue.
Security personnel quickly intervened as tempers boiled over, separating those involved while Stacks and Fury continued exchanging words in the aftermath.
Following the altercation, Stacks took to social media to reveal the injuries he suffered and admitted concerns over whether he would still be medically cleared to compete.
Showing off a split lip and damaged teeth, Stacks said on his Instagram Story: “Got a little bust lip, tooth’s a little wobbly, it is what it is. Life goes on, I don’t really give a f***, to be honest.
“But, let’s just see what the medical has to say because they’ll have a look because that might need stitches. What a f***ing liberty that was.”
McCann later addressed the incident himself and rejected accusations that he had blindsided his rival without reason.
He explained: “Listen, I didn’t cheap shot nobody. At the end of the day, Shane Fury is my good friend. He was there with his kids. I told Stacks, ‘Bro, we don’t do all the content. Chill out, don’t do all that.’
“Told him and told him, ‘Listen, don’t do all that. Chill out.’ So look, I tried to defuse the situation. Stacks is good, he had a little laugh and that, but you’ve got to understand, some people don’t want to do all that. Shane’s my mate, so he got smacked. Think I’m a***d? I’m not trying to pull out a fight.
“I want to have the fight, mate. What will I do to the Ibiza Final Boss. I can’t fight to save my life but I watched him on the pads, he’s a muppet. He’ll gas out. I’ll blitz him. Think I give a f***, mate? Shane’s my mate. Up the Furys. It is what it is.”
Tensions are certainly growing, which can only mean that Saturday night is going to be explosive.
