A Bulgarian personal trainer has rewritten the record books after producing an astonishing feat of upper-body endurance — and doing it with a message far bigger than the number itself.

Elina Pashalanova has officially achieved the most pull-ups in one minute (female), hitting an incredible total of 50 reps and surpassing the previous world record by five.

It’s the kind of number that makes even seasoned gym-goers stop and stare.

But for Elina, this wasn’t just about setting a new benchmark. It was about proving a point.

The 34-year-old, who works as both a CrossFit and weightlifting coach, had one clear goal in mind when she began chasing the record.

“I wanted to challenge myself and show how strong a woman can be, to inspire and set an example for all the people I work with and for everyone who doubts themselves,” she told Guinness World Records.

Mission accomplished.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is that it wasn’t a one-off explosion of effort. It was the result of relentless preparation, discipline, and a training load that most people would struggle to comprehend.

Elina revealed she spent around a year specifically preparing for her record attempts, building her body and endurance through an intense pull-up-heavy regime.

“I prepared for about a year, specifically with at least a 1,000 pull ups per week, done in different ways, depending on which part of the preparation it was,” she said.

That’s over 50,000 pull-ups across a year.

And it paid off.

Not only did she hit the exact target she had set for herself in the one-minute category, but within just six weeks she went on a record-breaking spree that turned a single ambition into four separate world titles.

Alongside her 50 pull-ups in 60 seconds, Elina also set the record for the most two-finger pull-ups in one minute (female), reaching 20.

As if that wasn’t enough, she followed it up by taking the title for the most four-finger pull-ups in one minute (female) with 25.

Then came another brutal challenge — the most pull-ups in one minute with a 20lb pack (female), where she managed 32.

That’s four records in a little over a month.

It’s a stretch of dominance that underlines just how specialised her training has become.

Pull-ups weren’t exactly new territory for Elina. She had already made them a regular fixture in her training long before this challenge appeared on her radar.

But by her own admission, the level she reached during this preparation was unlike anything she had done before.

That extra push made all the difference.

And for Elina, the records themselves are only part of the story.

“There is nothing impossible if you set your mind up to it, don’t be afraid and put in the work,” she said.

It’s the kind of mindset that has clearly carried her through the pain, fatigue, and repetition needed to perform at this level.

Because while one minute sounds short on paper, anyone who has attempted high-rep pull-ups knows how quickly the body starts to fight back.

To maintain that pace — almost one pull-up every second — requires explosive power, grip endurance, and near-perfect rhythm.

Elina had all three.

And with four records already secured and more potentially in her sights, it doesn’t feel like this is the end of her story.

If anything, it looks like the beginning.

Because when someone can turn a challenge into four world records in six weeks, it raises one obvious question:

What’s next?
