Most people would struggle to hold a wall sit for more than a minute, but one man from Kosovo has taken the notoriously painful exercise to an entirely different level.

Adhurim Kryeziu, a member of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), has earned himself a Guinness World Records title after supporting an astonishing 373.95kg (824.41lbs) on his lap while performing a static wall sit.

To put that into perspective, the weight was not far off that of an average horse.

The extraordinary feat took place at a gym in Prishtina on 26 March, with Kryeziu completing what is officially known as the heaviest Samson’s chair.

Unlike a traditional squat, the exercise requires someone to maintain a seated position against a wall, placing considerable strain on their thighs and core.

And while performing the movement with just your bodyweight can be challenging enough, Kryeziu had almost four times his own bodyweight pressing down on his legs.

Speaking to Guinness World Records, he explained what inspired him to attempt such an unusual challenge.

“I have always been motivated by challenging myself and pushing the limits of my physical and mental strength. When I learned about the Samson’s chair record, I saw it as an opportunity to test myself at the highest level and to represent Kosovo on the Guinness World Records stage.”

Kryeziu is no stranger to demanding physical training, having spent years developing his strength and fitness.

However, even with his experience, preparing to support such an enormous weight required a different approach.

Rather than immediately attempting the record-breaking load, he gradually increased the weight during training while concentrating on maintaining the correct technique.

The preparation was as much about developing the mental resilience to withstand the pressure as it was about building physical strength.

And when the moment finally arrived, Kryeziu discovered just how demanding the challenge would be.

“It was extremely intense. Holding 373.95 kg creates enormous pressure on the legs and the entire body.

“Every second becomes a mental battle, and you have to stay completely focused and control your breathing while fighting the instinct to give up.”

A crowd gathered to support him during the attempt, providing encouragement as he battled through the immense physical strain.

His efforts ultimately paid off, securing a place in the Guinness World Records books and giving him the opportunity to represent Kosovo on an international stage.

But despite successfully completing an achievement that most people would struggle to comprehend, Kryeziu has no intention of stopping there.

He has already expressed an interest in pursuing further strength-related records, including challenges involving heavy dumbbell walking lunges.

For someone who has just supported nearly 374kg while sitting against a wall, it seems the search for his next physical challenge is already underway.
