Brian Shaw, crowned World’s Strongest Man on a whopping four occasions, has never been one to shy away from a challenge.
The legendary American recently retired from the strongman game, winning his final ever competition to satisfy his global army of fans. Since retiring however, Shaw has been on a mission to keep extending his legacy.
Known for his extreme lifting abilities, Shaw holds a number of incredible records – and is now on the hunt for more glory. This time, it was getting his hands on, and lifting, the world’s heaviest globe dumbbell.

Weighing in at a staggering 350lbs, this holy grail of weights persuaded Shaw to make the eight hour drive to Kansas City with buddy and fellow strongman Joel Dircks. Once they arrived in KC however, the two men only had one thing on their mind.
After his first unsuccessful lift of the massive weight, Shaw seemed elated at the prospect of a new challenge, saying: “So this is really good, because with any of these type of dumbbells I’ve always gotten them the first time. Right? So for me to have something actually to have to work towards is really fun.”
Shaw shared the whole journey with his 1.94 million YouTube subscribers in a video that has already amassed over 222,000 views.
After their first few attempts, Shaw and Dircks took the record-breaking dumbbell back to its new home, Shaw’s personal gym. We can wait to see the strongman lifting that bad boy in the future – cause there’s no way that he’ll let that weight beat him.
Want to know what Shaw eats to be able to lift such massive weights? Well thankfully he has shared his daily diet so you can get a little glimpse into the life of a professional strongman.
