In the wake of Tommy Fury’s recent Manchester Arena victory over KSI (real name Olajide Olatunji), the boxing world is buzzing with anticipation about the next challenge that lies ahead for the rising star.

Fury’s much-debated performance in the ring against the YouTuber has left fans speculating about potential opponents for his upcoming bouts. Here are five compelling contenders who could step into the ring with Tommy Fury after he dispatched KSI.

  1. Jake Paul: The Rematch

A narrow win over American influencer Jake Paul in February set up the KSI fight. Since then Fury has been cast as the fighter coming to end YouTube boxing for good – with Paul openly suggesting a rematch is on the cards.

“It’s one of these things where you’ve got to take advantage. I look to capitalise on everything that’s in my way. One fight at time,” Fury said.

“This isn’t my final destination. I’m not going to beat these guys and that’s it. I will beat these guys and go on to achieve what I always said I would achieve.”

Is a Jake Paul rematch another step to Fury becoming a boxing legend? Only time will tell.

  1. Daniel Dubois: A Clash of Heavyweights

Daniel Dubois, known for his powerful punches and strong presence in the heavyweight division, could present a formidable challenge for Tommy Fury. This matchup would not only test Fury’s boxing skills against a seasoned opponent but also provide a platform for him to make a statement in the heavyweight ranks.

  1. Conor McGregor: A Cross-Disciplinary Showdown

The allure of cross-disciplinary matchups has become a popular trend in combat sports over the last few years, and a bout between Tommy Fury and Conor McGregor would undoubtedly be a pay-per-view dream. McGregor’s reputation as a former UFC champion adds an intriguing element to this potential showdown, blurring the lines between boxing and mixed martial arts.

  1. Roy Jones Jr: A Mike Tyson Undercard?

An icon of the sport, Roy Jones Jr. has held multiple world titles in four different weight classes. The legend recently made the request to fight Tommy Fury if his father, John, gets his wish and ends up in the ring against boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Speaking to Fury for Boxing King Media, Jones Jr said: “I say you know what if Mike Tyson and John Fury fought then why not me and Tommy Fury fight as the co-main event. Me and Tommy Fury fight as the co main and then Tyson and John fight the main event, that would be out of this world.”

“That would be crazy on the same night. Your father fights Mike and me and you do it as the co-main event.”

“Let’s do it,” Fury said. “Honestly we’ll arrange it, 100%. We’ll do it at 200lbs. It would be an honour, if we can get it set up we’ll get it done definitely.”

  1. Canelo Alvarez: The Ultimate Test

For those who believe in Tommy Fury’s potential to reach the pinnacle of boxing, a matchup against the pound-for-pound king, Canelo Alvarez, could be the ultimate test.

While this may be a long shot given Alvarez’s iconic status in the sport, the prospect of Fury facing one of the greatest boxers of all-time would undoubtedly generate significant interest and establish Fury’s credentials on a global scale.

As Tommy Fury basks in the glory of his victory over KSI, the boxing world eagerly awaits news of his next opponent.

Whether it’s a high-profile clash against another influencer, a test against an established boxer, or a dream bout against a pound-for-pound legend, the possibilities for Fury’s future matchups are as exciting and varied as his growing career.
