Eddie Hall Vows To Drop Under 300lbs In Order To Fight Dillon Danis: ‘Give Me 12 Weeks’

Dillon Danis made a statement return to MMA on Saturday night, needing just 15 seconds to submit opponent Warren Spencer at Misfits 22 in Manchester.

But the post-fight spectacle might have set up an even bigger showdown — with none other than 2017 World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall.

A Lightning-Fast Finish

Danis, a jiu-jitsu world champion, had been sidelined from MMA for years due to repeated knee injuries, with his only combat outing since 2018 being a controversial boxing match against Logan Paul in 2023.

Making history as part of Misfits’ first-ever MMA fight, Danis wasted no time. When Spencer – an influencer-turned-boxer – oddly chose to take the fight to the mat, Danis capitalized instantly. He locked in a chokehold and forced a tap in just 15 seconds, moving to 3-0 in MMA.

Eddie Hall vs Dillon Danis?

The night didn’t end there. Hall, fresh off his MMA debut in April where he knocked out former strongman rival Mariusz Pudzianowski in under 30 seconds, entered the ring to confront Danis.

Danis called on Hall to get below 400lb, to which, Hall already said it was. So “El Jefe” laid out a new challenge: for Hall to get below 300lb. “We have a deal. You have to be under 300lb. I’m 170,” Danis told Hall inside the cage.

At 348lbs for his debut and once tipping the scales at over 430lbs, Hall admitted he’d need to cut drastically for a fair fight.

“He wanted me under 400lb, which I am, so I said I’d get under 300 if he shakes my hand there and then, which he did,” Hall told Bloody Elbow. “So give me 12 weeks to lose 64lb and I will come in and rock his f***ing chin… Honestly, I just need one good shot on his face and he’ll regret shaking my hand.”

And speaking to TalkSPORT, Hall’s promises didn’t end there. ““If he signs that contract – well, we’ve already agreed it – so if he backs out, he’s an absolute f***ing [expletive], and I’ll never let him live it down,” Hall said.

“But yeah, just give me 12 weeks, I’ll lose 64 pounds, and I’ll be ready to fight at 299.”

Danis Sets Conditions

Despite Hall’s enthusiasm, Danis made clear he has weight requirements if the fight is to be sanctioned.

“He has to make at least the UFC heavyweight limit,” Danis said post-fight. “425lb is what he wanted to fight at, I’m 170lb. At least make the UFC weight.”

For reference, the heavyweight division caps at 265lb — meaning Hall would need to shed more than 80lb from his debut weight. So, it sounds like Danis could be backpedaling already.

What’s Next?

Hall appears determined to lose the weight, later adding: “[I’m] coming into Dillon’s world, because, as we just saw, you can be the best striker on the planet, but as soon as they get that jiu-jitsu in, it’s game over,” the Stoke-on-Trent native added.

“I know jiu-jitsu – not as good as him – but I’ve got a lot of strength to back it up, and that’s the difference.”

“The main this is, I can hit hard. I’ve got the world’s hardest recorded punch – that’s a fact,” Hall later told Fred Talks Fighting. “Above everything else, I can f***ing hit hard.”

Danis has also hinted at bigger ambitions, including a long-rumoured matchup with UFC legend Tony Ferguson.

Still, the Misfits banner thrives on freak-show appeal, and few spectacles would rival a 170lb submission ace against a 300lb former World’s Strongest Man.

For now, Danis is back in the win column after six years away — and whether his next fight is Ferguson, Hall, or another high-profile name, his return has already shaken up the crossover combat scene.
