CM Punk has paid a deeply emotional tribute to his dog Larry, whom he shared with wife AJ Lee, announcing the passing of his longtime companion in a heartfelt message shared to social media.

The post marks a touching and personal moment for the current World Heavyweight Champion, whose return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 and his ongoing run on Raw have seen him reference Larry multiple times, turning the beloved pooch into something of a cult figure among fans.

“The grief we carry is the price we pay for unconditional love,” Punk began. “Our little Larry crossed the rainbow bridge, wrapped tightly in our arms. He was safe and happy. Surrounded by love.”

Larry had become a small but memorable part of Punk’s story — not just on television, but throughout his public life with his wife, WWE Superstar AJ Lee, who recently returned to the company this fall.

Punk revealed that he and AJ rescued Larry from @pawschicago back in February 2015, shortly after both had stepped away from WWE.

“He changed our lives,” Punk wrote. “I could never in one million years find the words to properly express how much we loved him nor how much joy he brought us. Nothing I write, no pictures I post would do him justice.”

In the years that followed, Larry became a staple of the couple’s lives — featuring in social media posts, interviews, and even backstage stories.

“He lived a long amazing life,” Punk’s message continued. “He watched sunsets, he chased skateboards. He made everywhere we went with him home.”

“What a privilege to be so heartbroken and devastated for having experienced such a bond. I wouldn’t change anything,” Punk continued. “Our boy is at rest. The house is quiet but we still hear the jingle of his necklace and the tip taps of his little feet on the hardwood floors. He will always be near. We will always feel him.”

He closed the tribute with a final farewell: “Our hearts are broken. Until we see you again, sweetest Bobo. We love you. Forever.”

Larry’s life mirrored one of the most transformative decades in Punk and AJ’s careers. When they adopted him in 2015, Punk had just left WWE and was preparing for his brief stint in UFC, while AJ had recently retired after a record-setting run that saw her become a three-time Divas Champion and one of the most influential women of her era.

The wrestling world has rallied behind Punk and AJ, with fans and fellow wrestlers sharing condolences across social media.

“I’m so sorry,” wrote Charlotte Flair.

“So sorry for your loss. You could see how much he meant to you both,” Simon Miller commented.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce added: “I am so so sorry, my brother.”

Others to share their condolences included Matt Cardona, Danhousen, and referee Jessika Carr.

Our thoughts go out to Punk and Lee at this time.
