Brian Shaw has opened up on the results of his remarkable 10-week transformation, revealing he lost more than 44 pounds after committing to a disciplined fitness challenge alongside members of his Shaw Elite app.

The four-time World’s Strongest Man entered the challenge with one simple objective in mind. Having started at almost 387 pounds, Shaw wanted to get his body weight below 350 pounds while preserving as much muscle as possible.

Before stepping into the testing lab, however, he admitted he had no idea whether he had achieved what he set out to do.

“I don’t know how this is going to go. I really don’t. If I had to guess, I honestly have no idea,” he said.

“So going into it after my initial weight, I kind of put in my head that I wanted to get to 350 or under 350 and then maintain muscle. So if I was able to do that, I think my body fat will have gone down significantly.”

By the end of the challenge, Shaw had comfortably surpassed that target.

A SECA body composition scan recorded his weight at 342.4 pounds, down from 386.9 pounds just 10 weeks earlier. The scan also showed his body fat percentage had fallen from 18.6% to 10.8%, while his estimated body fat mass dropped from 71 pounds to just 37 pounds.

Although the numbers highlighted a reduction in skeletal muscle mass, Shaw was pleased with the overall direction of his progress.

“For me, I started at 386.9 pounds, and I went down to 342.4. So a big… almost 44 pounds roughly there of weight loss, which was really good overall,” he said.

He continued: “The body fat percentage changed for me from 18.6 down to 10.8.”

The transformation wasn’t just about chasing numbers.

Shaw repeatedly stressed that the challenge was built around consistency and discipline rather than trying to achieve a perfect body composition score.

“I think truly at the end of it, in my mind, what it is about is the discipline to take action and to make a change. That’s really what it comes down to,” he said.

“It’s fun to analyze at the end of any transformation and look at body composition and all these different things, but the reality is the work has to be put in to get to this point to actually have a change and to have a result to go over.”

His wife Keri also completed the challenge alongside him, with both undergoing multiple body composition tests before comparing the results.

While some of the readings differed depending on the testing method used, Shaw explained that hydration levels, glycogen stores and recent dieting can all influence the final figures, which is why he plans to undergo even more testing.

“The exciting part is we are actually doing a full body MRI. We’re not only going to get body composition, but we’re going to get a full health analysis top to bottom there. I’m really excited to see how it comes back,” he said.

Despite the dramatic physical changes, Shaw insisted the transformation is far from over.

“I really look at this as a starting point. Now it’s maintaining and even improving from here. So, I’m excited about that,” he said.

Rather than viewing the 10-week challenge as a finish line, Shaw believes it has laid the foundation for the next phase of his fitness journey as he continues working towards becoming healthier while inspiring others to do the same.
