Most people would struggle to pull a motorcycle using their arms, but one man has developed an extraordinary talent for stopping them using nothing but his beard.

Romanian circus performer Leonardo Costache, better known as ‘Leo Jaws’, has taken unconventional strength challenges to a completely different level.

Rather than relying on enormous barbells or complicated gym equipment, Costache uses his teeth, jaw and facial hair to perform physical feats that most people wouldn’t even consider attempting.

And some of his achievements are almost impossible to believe.

The performer has earned recognition from Guinness World Records for a series of extraordinary stunts, including restraining a motorcycle using his beard and suspending heavy weights from his teeth.

It’s an unusual approach to strength training, to say the least.

While most gym-goers spend years developing their chest, shoulders and arms, Costache has built his reputation around a part of the body that rarely features in conventional strength competitions.

His jaw.

One of his most remarkable demonstrations involves using his beard to resist the pulling force of a motorcycle.

The stunt requires him to withstand the force generated by the vehicle, creating a spectacle that looks more like something from an action film than a traditional fitness challenge.

And if that wasn’t enough, Costache has also demonstrated his extraordinary jaw strength by lifting weights with his teeth.

For most people, simply imagining the pressure involved would be enough to make their jaw ache.

But for the Romanian performer, these unusual challenges have become a defining part of his career.

His abilities were highlighted in a January 2025 feature by Guinness World Records, which explored his remarkable collection of strength-related achievements.

The feature also showcased his ability to suspend himself using his teeth, adding another extraordinary dimension to his performances.

Unlike a conventional pull-up or deadlift, these stunts place significant demands on areas of the body that aren’t typically associated with lifting or supporting heavy loads.

That makes the performances particularly striking, even for people familiar with impressive displays of physical strength.

Of course, there’s a considerable difference between watching a trained circus performer complete these challenges and attempting anything similar yourself.

Stunts involving the teeth, jaw and neck carry serious risks of injury and should never be treated as ordinary fitness exercises.

Nevertheless, Costache’s achievements demonstrate just how varied the world of physical performance can be.

Not every extraordinary feat involves lifting hundreds of kilograms from the floor.

Sometimes, it involves an unusual skill, years of specialist practice and a willingness to attempt something most people would find completely unthinkable.

For Costache, that means putting his jaw and beard to work in ways few people could imagine.

And while most men might be proud of growing an impressive beard, Leo Jaws has found a considerably more unusual use for his.
