Tommy Fury has jokingly fired back at online critics who mocked his running style after completing a punishing 100km triathlon in France.
The 26-year-old boxer, known more for his footwork in the ring than on the track, took part in the endurance event last Saturday. But instead of praise, clips of his sprint finish sparked a flood of jokes and memes as fans took aim at his unorthodox form.
The comments rolled in quickly, with fans comparing his running to everything from fictional characters to cartoon chaos. “You run like you’re wearing flippers,” one person quipped. Another added: “You run like you got scuba gear on.”
Another fan boldly joked: “You run like Phoebe in an episode of Friends.” (We all know the one.)
One user even suggested: “First time I’ve seen a human run like Scooby Doo,” while another joked: “Your feet are on the wrong feet.” The roasting didn’t stop there. Another viewer offered: “You run like someone who’s s** themselves,”* and one summed it up: “Runs like his legs don’t belong to him.”
However, all of these cheeky digs deflected off the boxer, as he had a mic-drop comeback ready. In response, Fury took to Instagram with a video of the now-viral moment, along with a defiant caption: “Go ahead and roast my form… but could you sprint finish after a 100KM triathlon?”
No… quote simply. No.
But while the internet had a laugh, Fury’s finish line moment was far from lonely. His partner Molly-Mae Hague made a surprise appearance in the French Riviera to cheer him on, flying out with their daughter Bambi on a private jet. The 26-year-old influencer shared a touching video of the moment she waved at Tommy while holding their little girl, with the boxer appearing visibly moved.
“My race highlight… I was half way through the run, looked up and thought I was hallucinating,” Fury later wrote. “My girls came out to surprise me!!!! I needed this so much. Just made me want to keep moving so I could get to the end quicker and see them.”

After the finish, the couple shared a kiss as Molly-Mae, dressed casually in a beige t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms, applauded her boyfriend’s grit. Bambi clutched her dad’s medal from her pushchair as the family reunited following the mammoth event.
Though Fury has no immediate fights lined up, the former Love Island star is clearly staying in shape. He recently turned down a rematch with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, citing the need for more preparation after an 18-month break and hand surgery.
In the BBC iPlayer series Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury, his father John Fury explained: “My job as a father is to get the right opponent. Get him in the ring. Get some rounds under our belt. Get the hand tested and see where we go from there.”
Tommy echoed the sentiment in a separate interview with Boxing Social, saying: “If I were to fight him, which I think will 100 per cent happen, then he has got to stop talking b like he is every single day on Twitter. He is offering stupid numbers that are not realistic.
“He thinks because he has got a few followers on Instagram and YouTube that he can call the shots, but if you want to come into a sport where we fight, then none of that matters. You lost, I won. So let’s talk some realistic numbers.”
As for the trolls, Fury seems unfazed. After 100 kilometres of sweat, pain and blisters, it’s clear he’s happy to let his legs do the talking — flailing or not.
