Leah Shutkever Announced As Co-Host For Eddie Hall’s ‘Battle Of The Beasts’

The stage is officially set for one of the wildest competitions in sports-entertainment — and now, it has two larger-than-life personalities steering the ship.

Camelot Films has confirmed that competitive eating superstar and 40-time Guinness World Record holder Leah Shutkever will join Eddie Hall as co-host of Battle of the Beasts, a brand-new series being filmed in Malta this October.

Announcing the news, producers wrote: “The stage is set for the ultimate food challenge! We are proud to announce that Leah Shutkever, Guinness World Record holder and competitive eating superstar will be joining Battle of the Beasts as our 1st celebrity co-host!”

It means fans will see one of the world’s most decorated eaters team up with the 2017 World’s Strongest Man for a show that blends sheer power, bizarre challenges, and outrageous spectacle.

For Hall — nicknamed “The Beast” and best known for his historic 500kg deadlift — Battle of the Beasts marks another leap in a post-strongman career built on boundary-breaking stunts, media projects, and fights. But with Shutkever joining the lineup, the series now has a food entertainment icon who has redefined what’s possible at the table.

Shutkever’s world records range from lightning-fast burrito demolitions to the fastest time to eat a Chocolate Orange, cementing her status as the UK’s most dominant competitive eater. Pairing her with Hall — a man once consuming 15,000+ calories a day at his Strongman peak — feels like chaotic perfection for a show that promises everything from belly flops to eating contests alongside the heavy lifting.

The series will gather 10 elite strongman athletes from around the world: reigning World’s Strongest Man Rayno Nel, three-time champ Tom Stoltman, Canadian juggernaut Mitchell Hooper, Wales’ Gavin Bilton, U.S. contenders Evan Singleton and Trey Mitchell, plus British veterans Terry Hollands and Mark Felix. Rising stars Paddy Haynes, Flex Lewis, and others round out a roster that looks set to deliver fireworks.

Filmed live in Malta, competitors will face a mix of traditional strength showdowns — log lifts, truck pulls, stone carries — and wild curveball events designed to test resilience, creativity, and stomachs. The winner will be crowned the first-ever Battle of the Beasts champion.

The show will be directed by Roel Reiné (Halo), backed by Visit Malta and sponsor Duelbits, with production led by Camelot Films.

Reiné said: “I am excited to be working with Eddie Hall and Camelot Films on bringing Battle of the Beasts to life. We are creating an epic, cinematic sporting entertainment experience. The character profile of each contestant, combined with the intensity of the challenges and the surprises we have planned, will allow us to capture something truly unforgettable and unique.”

Producer Matt Hookings added: “Battle of the Beasts will be a never-before-seen spectacle not just on the island of Malta but around the world. Eddie’s international appeal, combined with the extraordinary challenges our contestants will face, will create a show that captures the interest of everyone. Battle of the Beasts is the beginning of a new global sports entertainment phenomenon, deeply rooted in the heart of Malta.”

The addition of Leah Shutkever gives Battle of the Beasts an edge that stretches beyond the strongman world. With a Guinness record collection unmatched in competitive eating — and a reputation for going viral with her jaw-dropping challenges — she’s the ideal counterbalance to Eddie Hall’s heavy-lifting legend. In fact, the two often share videos together on social media:

For Hall, it’s yet another reinvention after conquering strongman, stepping into boxing with Hafthor Björnsson, dominating in MMA, and amassing a huge social media following. For Shutkever, it’s a chance to showcase her personality and larger-than-life appetite on an international stage.

Filming begins this October in Malta, with producers targeting a global release next summer. With two of Britain’s most extreme athletes hosting — and a lineup of strength giants ready to collide — Battle of the Beasts looks set to live up to its name.
