Eddie Hall’s Tour Of London Takes An Awkward Turn After Savoy Hotel Staff Refuse To Valet Park His Tank

Eddie Hall has done plenty of outrageous things since hanging up his lifting belt — but driving a tank through central London might just top the list.

In his latest YouTube video, the 2017 World’s Strongest Man can be seen casually cruising a full-sized tank through some of the capital’s most iconic locations, from Big Ben and Piccadilly Circus to Trafalgar Square — all in aid of the REORG Charity, which supports military personnel, veterans, and blue-light workers through physical and mental health initiatives.

Throughout the day, Hall made several stops for meet-and-greets with fans, encouraging the public to donate to REORG as curious Londoners gathered around to grab selfies and film the surreal sight of a tank rolling past double-decker buses and black cabs.

At one point, while parked in Trafalgar Square, Hall discovered that one onlooker had made off with his water bottle. “Right, we’re about to set off to The Savoy, which is a nice posh hotel, and somebody’s nicked my f***ing drinks bottle. So, yeah… thank you for nicking my drinks bottle,” he joked.

But it was Hall’s next stop that provided the video’s most memorable moment — when he attempted to have The Savoy Hotel valet park his tank.

“Who does the valet parking? Valet parking please, sir!” Hall called out as he hopped down from the armoured vehicle. One staff member played along at first, saying: “I’ll gladly park it.” But others were less amused by the stunt. Check out the awkward interaction below:

“Sir, any chance you can move that, please?” one employee asked.

“That’s your job,” Hall shot back, before being told: “No, no it isn’t. Jokes aside, please.”

When the staff member refused, saying he “didn’t feel the need” to park the tank, Hall quipped: “It’s discrimination.” The employee replied calmly: “No it’s not, sir, please. Can you move because you’re blocking the entrance.”

Eventually, Hall had to drive the tank away, later venting in a voiceover: “So The Savoy wouldn’t park the tank. Honest, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. This guy just had a problem with me. I don’t think it’s the tank, I don’t think it was anything else — I just think he had a problem with me. The joys of owning a tank, hey? Can’t even get valet-parked at The Savoy. Disgusting behaviour.”

He added that his party — which had planned to have lunch for ten at the hotel — decided to take their business elsewhere after the exchange.

Despite the setback (and several thousand pounds in fines), Hall remained upbeat as he wrapped up his charity drive, continuing to pose for photos and thank supporters along the route.

In the video’s description, Hall summed up the wild day: “It was super stressful and loads of near misses and tight streets but overall had a successful day with no accidents. I did, however, end up with £1000s worth of fines, but it was worth it.”
