Chuck Norris might be 85, but his latest fitness update has fans convinced that time simply doesn’t apply to him.

The martial arts icon and action star, best known for Walker, Texas Ranger, took to Instagram to share a photo that instantly went viral — a gym selfie showing the Hollywood legend flexing his bicep, looking every bit as formidable as he did in his 1980s heyday.

“Progress isn’t measured by perfection, but by the courage to keep going. I’m still setting goals, pushing forward and choosing discipline over comfort. No matter your age, keep striving for the best version of yourself. God Bless, Chuck Norris,” he wrote alongside the post.

The image, which Norris said was taken several months ago, shows the action star in a sleeveless training shirt, standing in front of gym equipment with a grin that says he’s still got it. And judging by that bicep, few would disagree.

The post immediately lit up social media, drawing admiration from fans and fellow athletes alike. Four-time World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw commented: “Setting the standard! Awesome!”

Others echoed the sentiment. “Still looking good Chuck,” wrote one fan.

“Death once had a near Chuck Norris experience,” joked another, continuing the internet’s long-running love affair with Chuck Norris ‘facts’.

“When Chuck Norris went to college he told his dad, ‘you’re the man of the house now,'” another added, with one fan joking: “When Chuck Norris was born the doctors said congratulations you have two healthy parents.”

The reactions summed up what’s made Norris a pop culture phenomenon for decades — the perfect blend of real-life toughness and mythical status that transcends generations.

Before he was the subject of memes and martial arts legend jokes, Norris was already a household name thanks to a career that redefined American action cinema. After dominating the martial arts circuit in the 1960s, he broke into Hollywood with Breaker! Breaker! (1977) and A Force of One (1979), before going on to headline cult classics like The Octagon (1980), Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), and the Missing in Action trilogy.

By the time Walker, Texas Ranger hit screens in 1993, Norris had fully cemented himself as one of television’s ultimate tough guys. The show ran for nine seasons and became an international hit, combining fight choreography with his trademark stoic charm.

Even after his final roundhouse kick on the small screen, Norris stayed active in both entertainment and fitness. He appeared in The Expendables 2 (2012), dropped into the Hawaii Five-0 finale in 2020, and has kept his martial arts discipline alive — formerly known as Chun Kuk Do — while promoting health and faith-based initiatives.

His latest gym photo isn’t just a nostalgia hit; it’s a message of motivation. Norris used the post to remind followers that progress and purpose don’t stop with age — a sentiment echoed throughout his decades-long career built on self-discipline and resilience.

And in true Norris fashion, he hasn’t slowed down online either. Just after before the gym post, he shared another update endorsing the boxing reflex trainer BoxBollen, writing: “@boxbollen is Chuck Norris approved! My son loved this, I guess he really did inherit my genetics.”

Whether he’s flexing in the gym or trading jokes with fans, the 85-year-old continues to embody the same no-nonsense energy that made him a global icon.

As Brian Shaw perfectly summed it up in the comments, Norris is still “setting the standard.”
