When most gym-goers dream of hitting 200kg (441lbs) on the bench press just once, Andrey Smaev is repping it twenty-five times… and making it look easy.
The 27-year-old Russian powerhouse — better known as the “Russian Hulk” — posted a video to Instagram that’s sent the fitness world into meltdown.
In the clip, Smaev — weighing around 150kg (330lbs) — effortlessly grinds out 25 clean reps with 200kg on the bar. No theatrics, just raw power.
The video has already racked up more than 5.7 million views, with fans and fellow lifters flooding the comments in disbelief.
“Most reps I ever saw with 200kg,” wrote powerlifter and bodybuilder Larry Wheels, a man who’s seen just about everything there is to see in the iron game.
Another fan added: “How many people in the world can do this? Maybe 10 or something?” A third simply summed up what everyone was thinking: “200kg shouldn’t move like this.”
One commenter joked: “The bar needs a rest day after this.”
Who is Andrey Smaev?
If you’re not familiar with Smaev yet, his nickname “Russian Hulk” isn’t just a bit of gym banter — it’s practically literal.
At around 150–155kg bodyweight, he’s built like a tank but moves with the agility of a gymnast. His 26-inch arms, monstrous chest, and freakish blend of strength and control have made him one of the most talked-about athletes in strength circles.
Unlike many heavyweights who stick purely to barbells, Smaev’s training also features elite-level calisthenics — including one-arm pull-ups, a move that’s almost unheard of at his size.
It’s not just fans who are paying attention, either.
During one of his YouTube collaborations, Larry Wheels met up with Smaev and couldn’t hide his admiration, telling him: “I don’t think there’s anyone in the world built like you at this bodyweight and as versatile as you.”
Even Devon Larratt, the legendary arm wrestler, has taken notice. Speaking about Smaev’s potential, Larratt said: “This guy has got to be that guy. I don’t know who’s working with him, but I’m so interested to see this dude step up and crush it. Please, somebody, find this guy, bring him to events… this guy looks like he could be Russia’s next superheavyweight superfreak.”
Smaev’s combination of raw power and body control has led fans to call him one of the most complete strength athletes on social media today — a rare “genetic freak” whose ceiling might still be nowhere in sight.
And after seeing his latest feat — 200kg for 25 reps — it’s hard to argue.
In an age where every big lift is captured, filtered, and reposted, few clips stop the scroll anymore. But when the Russian Hulk gets under a bar, the internet still pauses for a second — mostly to count how many reps he’s already done before anyone else even loads the plates.
