The 2026 Arnold Classic delivered exactly the kind of drama bodybuilding fans expect from one of the sport’s most prestigious stages.

In Columbus, Ohio, the contest unfolded as a tightly fought battle at the top of the lineup, with elite physiques trading blows under the bright lights. When the dust finally settled, it was Chinedu Andrew “Jacked” Obiekea who walked away with the title.

But while the scorecards showed a narrow victory, Arnold Schwarzenegger believes the reason behind Jacked’s win was crystal clear.

Speaking after the competition on March 8, the bodybuilding icon addressed athletes during the event’s seminar and pointed to a factor that often separates champions from the rest of the field: presentation. According to Schwarzenegger, what happened on stage wasn’t simply about muscle size or conditioning. It was about control, composure, and the ability to showcase a physique without hesitation.

The contest itself had been expected to revolve around a clash between Jacked and former Olympia champion Hadi Choopan. Yet as the competitors took to the stage, another challenger emerged as a serious threat.

Nick Walker — known throughout the sport as “The Mutant” — arrived in Columbus with arguably the best package of his career. His standout feature was impossible to ignore: massive legs that dominated the lineup and gave him a powerful presence throughout comparisons.

Walker pushed the eventual champion to the limit.

In the end, however, Jacked secured the Arnold Classic crown by just five points, underlining how competitive the show truly was. The narrow margin sparked debate among fans afterward, with many discussing whether the final placings could have gone either way.

Schwarzenegger, though, left little room for ambiguity when explaining why the judges ultimately sided with Jacked.

During the seminar, he highlighted an issue he believes should never appear on bodybuilding’s biggest stages.

“I’ve been saying this for years to guys. There was still yesterday a bodybuilder onstage competing with you guys that was shaking during the posing. That’s inexcusable. There is no shaking. When you get to this stage, there is no shaking,” he said, cited by FitnessVolt.

For Schwarzenegger, physical preparation alone isn’t enough once athletes reach the highest levels of competition. The ability to remain calm and composed while presenting a physique is just as important.

To illustrate the point, he drew a comparison to elite athletes in other sports who perform under immense pressure.

“Because this is the top stage, imagine you go to the Olympics, and you watch those figure skaters and all of a sudden they are shaking before they are skating… no. You are calm because you have done your work. This is what we saw yesterday. The work that you put in, an hour and a half of posing? That shows,” he said.

The Austrian legend then turned his attention directly to Jacked’s performance during the show.

One of the defining aspects of the champion’s stage presence, Schwarzenegger explained, was the level of control he maintained throughout the entire contest. While other athletes may show signs of fatigue or strain while holding poses, Jacked appeared composed from start to finish.

“You were never ever out of breath. I never saw your stomach going in and out. Oh my God, I cannot catch my breath. Why? Because you were ready,” he said.

For Schwarzenegger, that readiness — combined with disciplined posing — ultimately separated Jacked from the rest of the lineup.

In bodybuilding, competitors may spend months or even years building muscle, refining symmetry, and dialing in conditioning. But when it comes time to step onstage, everything comes down to how effectively that physique is displayed.

As Schwarzenegger put it, the difference between winning and losing often lies in how well an athlete presents what they’ve built.

He noted: “It’s all about presentation. Everything is about presentation. This is why we have now a new winner at the Arnold Classic and because of his great, great posing. That’s what was common that everyone said, his posing. He outposed all the rest of them and this is what it’s all about.”

The victory marks another major milestone in Jacked’s rising career within the IFBB Pro League, and attention has already turned to what comes next for the newly crowned Arnold Classic champion.

His next stop appears to be across the Atlantic.

Jacked has confirmed that he plans to travel to Birmingham, United Kingdom, where he is set to compete at the 2026 Arnold Classic UK. The event is expected to attract another stacked lineup, with fans eager to see whether he can repeat the form that brought him victory in Columbus.
