Strength sports are often associated with years of training, elite athletes, and competitors pushing their bodies to the absolute limit.

But at the 2026 Arnold Sports Festival, one of the most jaw-dropping moments didn’t come from a seasoned strongman or powerlifting veteran.

It came from a nine-year-old girl.

Lucy Milgrim (@lucy.milgrim) stepped up to the barbell in front of spectators and proceeded to deliver a lift that left the crowd stunned — pulling an incredible 180 pounds (81.6kg) from the floor.

For many adults, that would already be an impressive milestone. For someone who hasn’t even reached double digits in age, it is extraordinary!

Clips of the lift quickly spread across social media, where viewers watched as the young athlete confidently approached the bar before completing the huge pull with a mixed grip. The moment immediately caught attention online, with many people highlighting just how rare it is to see such strength at such a young age.

According to posts circulating online, Lucy Milgrim is only 9 years old and she’s already lifting more than some grown men. She pulled a massive 180-pound personal record at the 2026 Arnold Sports Festival and didn’t even break a sweat – smiling and flexing for the camera after achieving the impressive feat.

The Arnold Sports Festival — one of the biggest strength sports events in the world — regularly showcases elite powerlifters, bodybuilders, and strongmen. Yet Lucy’s performance managed to steal the spotlight among spectators watching the event unfold.

The lift itself was a personal milestone for the young athlete. In a post shared on her Instagram account, the caption read: “New PR at The Arnold! With sincere appreciation to our amazing sponsor @cardilloweightbelts, @anc_boston for his talent and time that went into creating the artwork on my belt, and gratitude to @lexenxtremepowerlifting for the invite to lift!”

The achievement only adds to an already impressive list of accomplishments for the young lifter. According to posts highlighting her success, Lucy owns 3 American Records for her division in the Squat (131 lbs), Bench Press (73.8 lbs) and Deadlift (165 lbs) – the latter of which can surely now be updated.

Social media reactions poured in almost immediately as clips of the moment circulated online. Some viewers couldn’t stop replaying the video after seeing the lift, with one person writing: “The way I could watch this on repeat. Go, lil sis.”

Others pointed out the astonishing strength relative to her body weight, with one Instagram user commenting: “Is this 3x her body weight? That’s like the average guy lifting 600 pounds!! Insane power!!”

The moment also struck an emotional chord for some viewers.

“Why am I crying?” one person typed, with strongwoman Lucy Underdown writing: “Just a girl. Doing some amazing girl stuff! Proud. Inspired. Amazed.”

Others were simply thrilled to see the lift unfold — especially the moment of celebration that followed – with the voice of gym positivity Joey Swoll writing: “Let’s go!!!! YES! And the flex after! I am so so so so proud of you Lucy!”

Lucy’s video has amassed an amazing 45 million views on Instagram – meaning that she’s guaranteed to have gained some fans who will be keeping a very close eye on her career and future successes.

Lucy currently boasts 158,000 followers on Instagram, where her family frequently shared videos highlighting her incredible lifts, wrestling achievements, and just life as a young girl who is doing things her way.

For the crowd watching at the Arnold — and the thousands who later saw the clip online — it was simply one of those moments that stops people mid-scroll.
