Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall finally settled one of the most bizarre and heavily-discussed crossover fights in recent memory on Saturday night in Manchester — and it delivered exactly the kind of chaos many expected.

Heading into the contest at the AO Arena, Fury arrived as the clear betting favourite, with most expecting his boxing pedigree, unbeaten professional record and ring experience to prove too much for the former World’s Strongest Man.

But from the moment the opening bell rang, it was obvious this was never going to play out like a conventional boxing match.

And in the end, Tommy Fury defeated Eddie Hall on points.

It was the conclusion to a fight that had captured huge attention long before either man stepped into the ring, largely because of the sheer contrast between them.

On one side stood Fury — the naturally smaller, sharper boxer, carrying years of experience and the pressure that comes with the Fury name.

On the other hand was Hall — a man built differently to almost anyone ever seen in crossover boxing, with his frightening size and raw power making him one of the sport’s biggest unknowns.

There was expected to be over 100lb separating the pair when they made the walk, and that physical mismatch became one of the biggest talking points throughout fight week.

At first glance, the pre-fight odds seemed logical.

DAZN Betting had Fury priced as a heavy favourite, while Hall entered as the outsider.

But plenty questioned whether boxing logic really applied here.

That included kickboxing superstar and heavyweight contender Rico Verhoeven, who had warned fans all week not to look at this matchup through a traditional lens.

Speaking before the fight, Verhoeven said: “The breakdown I would have on the Tommy Fury vs Eddie Hall fight is that it’s entertainment. That’s exactly what this is.”

And in many ways, that’s exactly what unfolded.

Misfits Boxing has built its identity on spectacle, unpredictability and crossover madness, but even by its standards, Fury versus Hall felt different.

It felt bigger.

Stranger.

And impossible to properly predict.

Verhoeven, who has spent years around Team Fury during Tyson Fury’s rise while also maintaining a close friendship with Hall, made it clear he believed fans were underestimating the former strongman.

“I believe that definitely Eddie Hall is going to show you something that you do not expect,” he said.

That warning looked significant as Hall brought the same intensity into fight night that he had shown throughout camp.

For months, Hall documented his preparation online, showcasing brutal conditioning sessions, explosive power drills and a dramatic body transformation as he prepared his giant frame for six rounds inside the ring.

Verhoeven insisted throughout fight week that none of it was for show.

“I know Eddie, he trains like a beast, he not only looks like a beast, but he is a beast,” he said.

That reputation has followed Hall long after stepping away from strongman competition following his 2017 World’s Strongest Man triumph.

Since then, he has thrown himself into a range of physically demanding challenges, from MMA contests to endurance events, but this represented arguably the biggest combat sports spotlight of his life.

For Fury, the pressure carried a different weight.

Despite remaining unbeaten, the younger Fury brother has faced constant questions over inactivity and the level of opposition on his record.

His win over KSI kept him firmly planted in crossover boxing’s spotlight, but this was another test of where his career sits moving forward.

Against Hall, there was always one undeniable danger.

One clean shot from a man built like that changes everything.

And at times, it looked like exactly that could happen.

The fight lasted the full length, with Hall coming out of the blocks quickly and landing some impressive shots, before Fury grew into the fight and his boxing experience proved too great as he was able to see the fight out professionally.

The fight was fought with respect, with both fighters touching gloves at the end of each round.

Following the fight, Fury dedicated his victory to his newborn son, Midas. Hall, on the other hand, expressed his interest at further fights either within Misfits boxing or MMA.

Long before the opening bell, this matchup had become one of the strangest attractions on the Misfits calendar.

Now, after finally getting their answers in Manchester, fans will no doubt be debating what comes next.

For Fury, it could be another step toward rebuilding momentum.

For Hall, it may have opened the door to even more crossover opportunities.

But on a night where spectacle was always guaranteed, one thing became clear.

Rico Verhoeven called it perfectly.

This was never just about boxing.

It was entertainment.

And it gave everyone exactly that.
