John Haack has once again redefined the limits of raw powerlifting, breaking his own world record with a jaw-dropping 413kg (910.5lb) deadlift in the 90kg class.

Competing this weekend at Power Surge Pro Day 2025, Haack produced one of the greatest deadlifts ever witnessed, pulling 910lbs at a bodyweight of just 87.7kg (193.3lbs). The lift set a new official world record in the 198lb class and further cemented Haack’s reputation as one of the most dominant powerlifters in history.

“Massive congrats to @bilbo_swaggins181 from the ANIMAL team […] This weekend at Power Surge Pro Day 2025, John Haack pulled 910lbs (413kg), setting an official world record in the 198lb class. A legendary lift by one of the greatest to ever do it,” the ANIMAL team shared in celebration.

Haack’s 413kg pull, which came at the 2025 Ghost Clash event, surpassed his previous best and immediately drew praise across the lifting community and with fans. Many hailed it as one of the finest deadlifts of all time, performed with flawless execution and unbelievable strength.

“One of the best to ever do it. Great lift man,” one Instagram user wrote. A second added: “Has to be the pound for pound strongest person who’s ever lived. Freak.”

Others highlighted that the deadlift outshines the record-breaking pull by Hafthor Björnsson earlier this month, who broke the overall world record at 510kg in Birmingham, England.

Haack is recognised as one of the most accomplished powerlifters of his generation. He has sat atop the worldwide DOTS rankings in raw powerlifting for several years and has built a reputation for smashing records across multiple weight classes — sometimes even lifting totals that eclipse the benchmarks of heavier lifters.

Until earlier this year, Haack held the all-time highest DOTS score among male lifters in raw powerlifting, posting an extraordinary 665.75 at the Power Surge Pro/Am VIII on September 28, 2024. That mark stood until March 29, 2025, when Colton Engelbrecht edged ahead with 688.33.
