Eddie Hall found himself at the centre of a hilarious dispute with fellow Strongman legend Brian Shaw after a seemingly innocent weigh-in turned into an argument over whether the former World’s Strongest Man had manipulated the scales.
The two strength icons recently reunited in the UK, with Shaw travelling across the Atlantic to spend time with his longtime friend.
And while the pair enjoyed a gym session together, it was their disagreement over their respective body weights that produced one of the funniest moments of the visit.
During their workout, Shaw asked Hall how much he currently weighed, prompting the 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner to admit he wasn’t entirely sure.
Hall initially estimated that he was somewhere around 160kg (352lbs), although he appeared reluctant to commit to an exact figure.
When Shaw questioned whether he might actually be heavier, Hall insisted he was confident he weighed approximately 160kg.
The conversation eventually led to the pair finding a set of scales to settle the debate.
However, things quickly took an unexpected turn.
Hall stepped onto the scales and appeared to record a surprisingly low reading of 153.2kg (338lbs).
Shaw immediately questioned the result, suggesting that Hall had interfered with the scales before stepping onto them.
“You’re such a cheater. I know you cheated,” Shaw told Hall, before repeatedly demanding that he weigh himself again.
But Hall wasn’t particularly interested in cooperating.
Despite Shaw’s insistence that the reading wasn’t legitimate, Hall refused to repeat the weigh-in and attempted to move on.
“You literally cheated and then wouldn’t get back on the scale,” Shaw said as the pair continued their disagreement.
Hall, however, maintained that the original reading was accurate.
“I think it was a legitimate reading and an accurate reading,” he insisted.
Shaw wasn’t convinced, claiming that the scales had been displaying a negative reading before Hall stepped onto them.
He also suggested that his friend’s actual weight could be considerably higher than the figure shown.
“So at some point we’re going to get Eddie on a scale to actually see what you weigh,” Shaw said, adding that he believed the reading had been altered by at least 10kg.
The disagreement became even funnier when Hall explained why he wasn’t willing to step back onto the scales.
“I am in a very positive body image right now. I wasn’t about to let you ruin that,” he told Shaw.
Towards the end of the video, Shaw even suggested that Hall could weigh as much as 167kg (368lbs), although Hall continued to dispute the accusation.
The pair eventually abandoned their attempts to settle the argument, with Hall insisting he had won their unofficial weigh-in competition.
Despite the repeated accusations, the exchange appeared to be another example of the playful rivalry between the two former World’s Strongest Man champions.
And while Shaw remained adamant that something suspicious had happened, Hall was equally determined to defend his result.
Whether the 153.2kg reading was genuine remains unclear, but one thing is certain: Shaw wasn’t prepared to let his friend forget about it.
